Learning Space
The Learning Space offers classes dedicated to developing a variety of skills, where participants can learn at their own pace.
The Learning Space provides a welcoming and safe space for skills development at a pace that suits each individual. Participants learn new skills while developing stronger links to the community. The program also builds on its participants’ capacity to learn and engage with each other in a vibrant social environment. Our tutors are experts in their fields of knowledge and include participants from many different cultures and backgrounds.
The following classes are offered through the Learning Space:
Term 4, 3rd October – 20th December 2022:
Every Tuesday:
- Computer skills for work – 12:00pm-2:30pm
- Read and write English – 9:30am-11:30am
Every Wednesday:
- English skills for work – 9:30am-11:30am
- Beginners English – 9:30am-11:30am
- Social Sewing – 12:00pm-2:00pm
- Sewing for a cause – 12:00pm-2:00pm – FREE
Classes cost $20 a term unless stated otherwise. The classes are open to anyone, however priority for class places is given to Humanitarian and Refugee Entrants and Partner and Family visa holders who have been in Australia for less than five years.
Classes are run face-to-face at the SMRC Office, 39 Clow Street Dandenong.
